The protections afforded to the consumer since the Depression of 1929 no longer exist. The Financial Laws passed through Congress in 1992 allowed banks, insurance companies, investment firms to handle banking, insurance and investment operations. Laws passed after 1929 had prevented banks from insurance and direct stock exchange trading, likewise insurance companies could not pursue banking operations or stock exchange nor could stock exchange companies pursue insurance or banking operations.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;This freedom was granted without the subsequent protections of the consumer included in these new laws. There currently exists no single body of consumer law covering the privacy of consumers. The private citizen must fight the triumvirate of bank,insurance and stock exchange through the court system for his own right to privacy.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Some states have allowed the use of individual credit to be a determining factor in the issuance of car insurance. However, two such states, Texas and Michigan have institutionalized state agencies to meticulously govern and manage those insurance bodies. These states have a socialized automobile security plan where individuals having bad credit or low income jobs can obtain economical coverage or liability car insurance.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;True, each has rather strict guidelines by which a motorist can qualify for low cost insurance. However, this is a two edged sword! The performance characteristics of every insurance agency and company are meticulously maintained. These involve the speed with which legitimate claims are processed by the insurance company, customer satisfaction (both client and claimant), conformity to state and federal laws. A performance index is issued for each firm and their respective insurance costs are compared with both a state and federal cost per coverage. The state has created its own actuarial data base to evaluate insurance coverage. The motorist can freely view these to determine the best coverage for his situation. The consumer is given power that the insurance vendor can appreciate and respect.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;This fact may give some satisfaction to the average motorist but some of us still want to know how good or bad credit make a motorist a good risk or a bad one. Perhaps it is an honesty issue! If I have good credit then I will always obey the rules of the road and none of life's bad things will touch me. Does good credit mean that you can avoid being hit by a drunken driver, avoid having your car pushed off the highway into the nearby lake or have hail storms miss you? I can understand where the honesty of making constant insurance payments would be reflected in your credit but how does it establish insurance rates?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Reviewing the Report to the 79th State of Texas Legislature, 2004 I discovered that insurance was not denied because of a bad credit score but that it could be a higher premium because of poor credit. Statistics showed that people in the 30 year age group has the worst credit and the greatest vehicle damages reported. My conclusion would not be that bad credit makes you careless. Rather my summation is that youth and proneness to erratic behavior was the cause. Are we are plagued by a slow metabolism?  Certainly, we cant be the victims of our own self indulgence, can we?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I advise people that losing weight is like starting a new business.  It takes careful planning, proper public promotion, consultation with the appropriate experts to set up the structure of the program, and most importantly, a tireless dedication to finish the task despite the guaranteed peaks and valleys along the way.  Unfortunately, much of our society expects rapid results, and once they realize the flaw in a fad diet or quick fix, they become frustrated and look for the next overnight solution.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Let me point out the following critical challenges that often block weight loss success for many clients.  The list below identifies seven major reasons people fail to attain their desired weight.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;1)Unrealistic expectations  As mentioned earlier, people are impatient and want instant gratification.  Often, clients are motivated by special events, such as weddings, reunions, or office bets with peers.  Once the event passes, the desire to maintain change is lost, or the person may miss the deadline altogether.  The answer is to set realistic goals for losing 1-2 pounds per week, understanding that it takes time and you may not lose weight every week.  Be patient and work hard.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;2)Scale obsession  How many of you get on the scale every morning?  Weight will fluctuate by 1-3 pounds at times based on water retention, dehydration, and of course too much overindulgence.  Gradual weight loss is best, and those who dont see positive change each time they get on the scale often get frustrated easily.  I recommend weighing yourself once per week on the same scale, on the same day, and at the same time of day to ensure accuracy and reliability.  This might be tough, but it will disappoint less and provide a clearer picture of your progress.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;3)Skipping breakfast  You probably have heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.  This is true because it kick starts your metabolism, provides fuel for activity, and also reduces the urge to eat unhealthy snacks before lunch.  If you are rushed in the morning, buy healthy items such as fruit, yogurt, granola bars or cereal bars that can easily be consumed on the way to work or at your desk.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;4)Failing to pack your lunch  I firmly believe that packing a healthy lunch on a regular basis is essential to avoiding weight gain.  If you dont, it becomes that much easier to grab fast food with co-workers or order in fare that is high in calories, hydrogenated fats, and sodium.  You also have a higher probability of having desert when eating out.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;5)Eating too few meals per day  Yes, its true that you should eat 5-7 times per day, but the portion sizes must be appropriate.  Eating every 2-3 hours will prevent significant hunger pangs and eating binges.  More importantly, it speeds metabolism and caloric burning throughout the day.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;6)Poor grocery shopping  I stick to the mantra of If its not in the house, you cant eat it.  Always prepare a list of foods before going to the store, and never go shopping when you are hungry.  This strategy will help eliminate unhealthy temptations and stumbling blocks.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;7)Not drinking enough water  Drinking water helps our muscles maintain cellular volume and flushes our system of waste products. People want to know if aerobics is better than strength training, or if traditional cardio exercise is better than intervals. Cardio is not the best way to burn fat. Intervals are a better fat burning workout to burn belly fat.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;With over 15 years experience helping others, training myself, training for sports, spending countless hours in the gym, AND actually conducting laboratory research studies on different exercise methods, I'm pretty confident in knowing what works and what does not.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;But first of all, I want to frame my responses. I'm going to talk about what works for people that have a limited amount of time to exercise, mostly because I expect your readers don't have 90 minutes per day to devote to a workout, unlike the typical audience of a fitness magazine.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;That's why there is a huge disconnect between some of the information found in magazines and the ability of the reader to apply it to their lives.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;We just don't have 6-8 hours per week for exercise, nor do we need it. If you're a triathlete, you might need that, but not someone that just wants to lose fat and gain muscle.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Having said all that, the bottom line for getting a better body is...&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Use bodyweight exercises to warm-up, strength training supersets to build muscle, and then finish your workout with interval training to burn fat in a short amount of time. I've structured my system so that you are in and out of the gym in 45 minutes, three times per week.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;You'll do 5 minutes of bodyweight exercises to warm-up. This is a much more efficient approach than spending 5 minutes walking on a treadmill, which really doesn't prepare you for anything except more walking on a treadmill.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Then we move into the strength training supersets, where we use two exercises performed back to back with minimum rest between each. This cuts our workout time, while still giving us maximum results. We only need 20 minutes for this, and we'll use basic exercises, and sometimes even more bodyweight exercises, depending on the client's goal for muscle building.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;And finally, we'll do 18 minutes of interval training. A warm-up, followed by six short intervals at the appropriate fitness level for the client, interspersed with short periods of low-intensity recovery. Finish with a cool-down. And that's the workout. Again, about 45 minutes total.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Compare that to what most people do, which is run, jog, cycle or use the cardio machines for 45 minutes straight. Sure, that will burn calories, but it doesn't build a better body.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;In fact, there are a few "dark sides" to long slow cardio, including less-than-optimal results, the potential for overuse injuries, and it is an inefficient form of exercise. If you only have 30-45 minutes for your workout and you spend it all on a cardio machine, when are you going to train the rest of your muscles and sculpt a better body?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;So the best way to burn belly fat is with a combination of strength training and interval training.
